Job summary

Aspire People Limited is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with diverse needs in a mainstream primary setting in Birmingham. The role focuses on 1:1 and small-group support, helping children access personalised learning within an inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SENCO, supporting communication, emotional development and social skills while promoting safeguarding and positive behaviour.

Qualifications

  • Experience with SEN (desirable but not essential).
  • Patient, compassionate, and resilient.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or is willing to undertake training.

Responsibilities

Position: Full-Time, Term Time Only

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming mainstream primary school in Birmingham. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning.

  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Has experience working with children with SEN (desirable but not essential).

  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or is willing to undertake training.
