Job summary

Flourish Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support a Reception class at one of our partner primary schools in Halesowen. This is a full-time role starting as soon as possible and running until the end of the academic year.

You will provide general classroom support, assist pupils with SEND and deliver Read Write Inc phonics interventions to develop early reading and literacy skills. The school offers a safe, stimulating environment.

Qualifications

• TA Level 2 or 3 qualification.
• Experience in Reception or Early Years in a UK primary school.
• Experience delivering phonics interventions, ideally Read Write Inc.
• Good understanding of EYFS curriculum and SEND support.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Flourish Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work in a Reception class at one of our partner primary schools in Halesowen. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the academic year.

The school require a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide general classroom support alongside additional support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role will also involve delivering targeted phonics interventions using the Read Write Inc. programme, helping children develop their early reading and literacy skills.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

• Providing classroom support within Reception, assisting the class teacher with daily learning activities.
• Supporting pupils with SEND, adapting activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Delivering targeted phonics interventions using the Read Write Inc. programme to develop early reading skills.
• Working with individual pupils and small groups to support communication, literacy and early development.
• Encouraging independence, positive behaviour and engagement through practical and play-based learning activities.

Required Skills and Experience as a Teaching Assistant:

• Teaching Assistant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
• Previous experience working within Reception or an Early Years setting in a UK primary school.
• Experience delivering phonics interventions, ideally using the Read Write Inc. programme.
• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and strategies for supporting pupils with SEND.
• A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Working as a Teaching Assistant for Flourish Education also offers you excellent benefits, including:

• £92.59 to £100.00 per day, equating to £18,055 to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year (195 days), dependent on experience and days worked.
