Job summary

Whipman Woods Flying High Academy in England is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting children across the classroom and working closely with the class teacher to deliver high-quality learning experiences. The role is part-time, with two teaching days per week during term time.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (SEND).
  • Ability to adapt learning activities and resources for varied needs.
  • Reflective practitioner who observes, records, and communicates progress clearly.
  • Calm, nurturing adult who supports emotional development and inclusion.
  • Reliable team player who collaborates with families and staff.
  • Adheres to safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Help deliver structured group activities, adapt resources, and track pupil progress under teacher guidance.
  • Support pupils’ emotional and behavioural development to promote inclusion and confidence.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to support learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures, and model the school’s values in all interactions.

About the Role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role will involve supporting children across the classroom, working closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences and ensure all children are fully supported. The 2 days are likely to be Thursday and Friday, each term time week.

Whether you are supporting the whole class, working with small groups, or delivering 1:1 support for children with additional needs, your role will be crucial in helping every child feel safe, happy, and able to achieve their potential.

  • A reliable team player who can build strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
  • Someone who maintains high professional standards and follows safeguarding and behaviour policies effectively.
