Job summary

Flying High Partnership is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support children across the classroom, working closely with the class teacher to deliver high-quality learning experiences. The 2 days per week are likely to be Thursday and Friday during term time, with responsibilities including 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs.

You will help create a safe, inclusive environment, support emotional development, and work collaboratively with families and staff to help

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting children with additional needs (SEND).
• Ability to adapt learning activities to meet diverse pupil needs.
• Reflective practitioner who records and communicates pupil progress clearly.
• Calm, nurturing approach supporting emotional development and inclusion.

About the Role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role will involve supporting children across the classroom, working closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences and ensure all children are fully supported. The 2 days are likely to be Thursday and Friday, each term time week.

Whether you are supporting the whole class, working with small groups, or delivering 1:1 support for children with additional needs, your role will be crucial in helping every child feel safe, happy, and able to achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND or additional needs, including supporting individual plans.
• Help deliver structured group activities, adapt resources, and track pupil progress under teacher guidance.
• Support pupils’ emotional and behavioural development to promote inclusion and confidence.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to support their learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
• Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures, and model the school’s values in all interactions.
