Overview

A fantastic opportunity to join the Medical Needs Education Team as a Teacher of Maths, a team dedicated to making a difference to the lives of young people who are unable to attend school due to illness. This role involves teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 Maths, personalising learning to meet medical needs and/or SEND, and inspiring students to achieve despite personal challenges. The team emphasises wellbeing and provides superb professional development and support.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and inspire students in Maths for Key Stage 3 and 4, personalising learning to meet medical needs and SEND
  • Deliver lessons primarily 1:1 in locations such as homes and libraries, aligned to the young person’s needs
  • Collaborate with senior staff in schools, CAMHS, medical professionals, social workers, CBC SEND staff, and the family to create and lead a strategic reintegration plan
  • Contribute to achieving the best possible educational outcomes and support reintegration into formal learning when appropriate
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Excellent teacher of Mathematics to GCSE level
  • Degree with Qualified Teacher Status
  • Several years of teaching experience
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to drive/travel as part of the role
  • Experience in a SEND and/or pastoral role is advantageous
  • Proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills; able to work flexibly and independently

Role Details
  • Hours: 25 hours per week (Full-time)
  • Location: Attend CBC office location as needed, no less than once per month
  • Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

  • Salary: MPS 1 to UPS 3 (£32,916 - £51,048 per annum pro rata) plus SEND allowance £2,787 per annum pro rata
