Job summary

TeacherActive Limited. is seeking a SEND Teacher in Telford for ongoing, long-term cover in a dedicated SEND provision supporting SEMH and ASD pupils.

You will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons, manage challenging behaviours with effective strategies, and adapt teaching to individual emotional and learning needs. QTS is required; an Enhanced DBS on Update Service is preferred, and applicants with ECTs are welcome.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status required; Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply
• Experience supporting secondary pupils with SEMH and ASD
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and child protection procedures
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Calm, patient and caring approach with ability to adapt teaching to individual needs

Salary: £155 - £210 per day

Do you have experience supporting secondary school pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school in Telford that has a dedicated SEND provision supporting pupils with SEMH needs, ASD and challenging behaviours. The school provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment, focusing on structured routines, personalised learning and helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and academic abilities.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Teacher on a long-term basis, with the potential to secure a permanent position for the right Teacher. The successful applicant will be working with secondary-aged pupils within the school's SEND provision, planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons while implementing effective behaviour management strategies to support pupils' individual learning and emotional needs.

The successful Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS (ECTs are welcome to apply)
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
• Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs, ASD and challenging behaviours
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to implement effective behaviour management strategies
• A calm, patient and caring approach with the ability to adapt teaching to individual learning and emotional needs
