Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teacher for a Trafford-based SEND school. The role starts at the end of January 2027 and is part-time, Monday to Wednesday, on a long-term maternity cover.

You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons and create a safe, supportive environment for pupils with PMLD and other complex needs. The ideal candidate holds QTS, has experience with PMLD, and with autism/ASD or SLD, and can tailor teaching to each child with patience, resilience and excellent

• Ability to adapt and differentiate learning for pupils with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for pupils with PMLD and complex needs.
• Create a safe, supportive learning environment tailored to individual pupils.
• Teach on a part-time basis (Mon-Wed) as maternity cover starting late January 2027.

Job Title: SEND Teacher
Location: Trafford
Start Date: End of January 2027
Salary: £160 - £240 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a warm and welcoming SEND school in Trafford. The school supports children with a range of additional needs including PMLD, Autism / ASD and Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD, with a friendly and supportive Senior Leadership Team.

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Teacher from the end of January 2027 to work Monday to Wednesday on a long-term maternity cover basis. The successful SEND Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons while creating a safe, supportive learning environment that meets the individual needs of pupils with PMLD and other complex needs.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• QTS
• Experience working with children and young people with PMLD
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASD, SLD or other additional needs
• Strong knowledge of adapting and differentiating learning for pupils with complex needs
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
