Job summary

United Welsh is seeking a Recruitment and Onboarding Officer to deliver an excellent candidate and new starter experience. You will coordinate recruitment from vacancy approval through to probation, working closely with hiring managers and applicants.

A key focus is creating a welcoming onboarding process, managing offers and pre-employment checks, ensuring accurate records and compliance, and delivering inductions across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Onboarding and recruitment coordination experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of HRIS and ATS systems.
• Understanding of right to work and recruitment compliance.
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Experience delivering onboarding or induction programmes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment from vacancy approval to appointment and onboarding through probation.
• Support managers with job descriptions, adverts and assessment methods; coordinate vacancy advertising, shortlisting, interviews and events.
• Support candidates and new starters by phone, email and in person, maintaining contact before joining and during early weeks.
• Manage offers, contracts and pre-employment checks, including right to work documentation.
• Develop onboarding plans with managers and ensure new starters have resources and support before joining.
• Deliver team inductions and contribute to company-wide induction programmes with scheduling and attendance.
• Maintain HRIS, ATS and records; provide first-line troubleshooting and escalate complex system issues.
