Talent & Development Manager (No Direct Reports)

Milton Keynes

Hybrid | Hours: 37 per week

£50,000 - £55,000 + Car allowance

A growing automotive organisation is looking for a hands‑on Talent & Development Manager to support recruitment, L&D, culture and payroll coordination. This is a manager‑level role with no direct reports, working closely with the Head of HR in a small, collaborative team.

You’ll shape the full employee journey – from attraction and onboarding through to development and retention. The role combines operational HR, people development and project work as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end‑to‑end recruitment and improve hiring processes
  • Deliver onboarding, management training and wider L&D initiatives
  • Support talent reviews, performance processes and succession planning
  • Coordinate payroll changes and maintain accurate HR records
  • Advise managers on ER matters (probation, attendance, performance)
  • Support culture, engagement and people‑focused projects
  • Use HR data to identify trends and improvements
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong background in recruitment, L&D or HR advisory/partnering
  • Experience with ER issues and UK employment practices
  • Payroll knowledge (processing changes, accuracy checks)
  • Confident in fast‑paced, multi‑department environments
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship‑building skills
  • Proactive and solutions‑focused
  • Good MS Office and HR systems knowledge

Desirable: Automotive or engineering experience | CIPD Level 5+
