Role
Within the Systems Engineering stream, you will support a diverse range of projects, from feasibility studies and horizon scanning to technology road‑mapping, concept development and systems design architecture. You will apply systems thinking across the lifecycle to ensure solutions are reliable, maintainable and sustainable.
Key responsibilities
- Consider enterprise‑level programmes and industry‑wide sustainable solutions.
- Analyze technology‑level details of systems and their interaction with users.
- Facilitate model‑based systems engineering to understand challenges such as space‑based solar power.
- Assess digital twins for nuclear reactor assurance.
- Support clients with critical infrastructure projects in rail, naval and other sectors.
- Identify and select digital technology trends for future transportation systems.
- Manage user requirements during equipment integration into research laboratories.
- Assist suppliers in next‑generation training equipment for maritime nuclear power systems.
- Lead industry stakeholder mapping workshops for novel power system implementation.
Qualifications
- On track to obtain a 2:1 degree or higher (or equivalent experience) with a related Engineering or relevant Scientific bias (e.g., Systems Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Supportability, Aerospace, Maritime Engineering or Mathematics).
- Strong analytical and practical engineering skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and problem‑solving abilities.
- Self‑starter who takes ownership of tasks and delivers results.
