Job summary

The Environment Agency Pension Fund (EAPF) is an open defined benefit scheme, part of the LGPS, managing over £5 billion for around 40,000 members. The role focuses on steering sustainable investment and overseeing LPPI’s implementation of the Fund’s Strategic Asset Allocation, while promoting responsible investing and climate considerations.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of investing across asset classes.
• Strong understanding of responsible and impact investing.
• Understanding of climate science and natural capital for investing.
• Knowledge of the LGPS and pooling.

Responsibilities

• Provide input to the strategic direction of the Fund’s investment approach.
• Identify and discuss green growth opportunities with LPPI.
• Monitor and oversee investments in public and private markets.
• Advise on climate change and biodiversity impacts of investments.
• Provide assurance on the work of LPPI through bilateral and joint partnership working.
• Reporting progress to the EAPF’s Investment Oversight Group and Pensions Committee.
