Job summary

The Environment Agency Pension Fund (EAPF) is an open defined benefit scheme and part of the LGPS, managing over £5 billion for around 40,000 members. We seek an experienced investment professional to keep the Fund at the forefront of responsible, sustainability-led investing and to oversee our pooling partner LPPI.

You will line manage one Investment Analyst and engage with members, committees and external partners.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of investing across asset classes.
• Strong understanding of responsible and impact investing.
• Knowledge of climate science and natural capital and its relevance to investing.
• Familiarity with LGPS and pooling structures.

Responsibilities

• Provide input to the Fund's strategic investment direction.
• Identify green growth opportunities with LPPI.
• Monitor and oversee investments in public and private markets.
• Advise on climate change and biodiversity impacts of investments.
• Provide assurance on LPPI work through partnership activities.
• Report progress to Investment Oversight Group and Pensions Committee.
• Respond to member and public enquiries; engage with external audiences.
• Network across the finance community and represent the Fund publicly.
