Job summary

The Environment Agency Pension Fund (EAPF) is an open defined benefit scheme within the LGPS and manages over £5 billion in assets for around 40,000 members. We are seeking an Investment professional to help keep the Fund at the forefront of responsible investment and deliver our sustainability-led Investment Strategy.

The role involves overseeing the pooling partner LPPI, providing strategic direction, monitoring investments across public and private markets, and engaging with members,

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of investing across asset classes.
• Strong understanding of responsible and impact investing.
• Strong understanding of climate science and natural capital for investing.
• Knowledge of LGPS and pooling arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Provide input to the strategic direction of the Fund’s investment approach.
• Identify and discuss green growth opportunities with LPPI.
• Monitor and oversee investments in public and private markets.
• Advise on climate change and biodiversity impacts of investments.
• Provide assurance on LPPI’s work through partnerships.
• Report progress to the Investment Oversight Group and Pensions Committee.
• Respond to member, media and public enquiries on investment approach.
• Network across the finance community and participate in public speaking.
