Job summary

St Austell Brewery is seeking a Sustainability Manager to lead Crafting a Brighter Future, the company-wide sustainability strategy, and to drive its integration across all operations from pubs to production.

You will engage with senior stakeholders, manage ESG reporting, data collection and compliance, monitor targets, and champion initiatives that deliver environmental and social value while supporting business growth.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sustainability, ESG or responsible business.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks, reporting requirements and best practice.
  • Experience collecting, analysing and interpreting data to drive decision making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to influence and challenge constructively at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong project management skills and a track record of delivering initiatives through to completion.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with a genuine passion for sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the delivery and ongoing development of Crafting a Brighter Future, our sustainability strategy.
  • Driving engagement across the business, embedding sustainability into operations and long-term planning.
  • Managing sustainability reporting, data collection and compliance, including annual reporting and carbon disclosures.
  • Monitoring performance against ESG targets and providing regular updates to leadership and the Board.
  • Working with business teams to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Assisting with risk management by identifying sustainability risks, trends and legislation.
  • Acting as the internal subject matter expert for sustainability and ESG matters.
  • Delivering training and communications to build understanding and action.
  • Managing sustainability events, awards and industry submissions to enhance our profile.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, suppliers and partners to drive positive environmental and social impact.
  • Leading ESG reporting and compliance while engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Building capability and inspiring action toward net-zero and broader goals.
  • Communicating progress and achievements internally and externally.
  • Custodian of the sustainability story and reputation.
