Job summary

St Austell Brewery Ltd in Exeter is seeking an Area Manager to lead and support General Managers across pubs in Devon and Cornwall. The role drives area performance, aligns with the company plan, and champions our brand, heritage and values with fresh ideas for the managed estate.

You will build strong relationships, manage multiple disciplines, and deliver high standards in a dynamic environment while developing teams and delivering tangible commercial results.

Qualifications

• Able to work across Devon and into areas of Cornwall.
• Proven experience in a similar-sized role.
• Strong track record of P&L and balance sheet management with commercial acumen.
• Comprehensive knowledge of compliance and audit processes.
• Exceptional attention to detail and high standards of delivery.
• The ability to solve problems creatively, think broadly, and manage multiple disciplines and priorities from start to finish.
• A warm, effective relationship builder and influencer, able to connect with people at all levels.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge effectively and articulately.
• A calm, adaptable approach under pressure, maintaining focus in dynamic environments.
• Strong people leadership, with demonstrable experience of driving engagement and performance across multiple teams.
