Job summary

Stepping Stone Projects is seeking a Supported Housing Worker to support young people aged 16 to 25 in an OFSTED-regulated accommodation setting in Clitheroe. The role combines housing management with person-centred support to help residents access education, training and employment opportunities while developing independent living skills.

You will work with colleagues, local authorities and partner agencies to ensure safe, supportive accommodation and positive outcomes for residents, including

Qualifications

  • Experience in supporting individuals who may have experienced trauma, adversity or instability.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Strong partnership-working and advocacy skills.
  • Resilience, perseverance and solution-focused approach.
  • Holding or working towards NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People.
  • Full UK driving licence with daily vehicle access.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting, professional relationships with young people and maintain boundaries.
  • Support goal achievement through tailored support plans and regular key work sessions.
  • Complete needs, risk and support assessments.
  • Help access education, training, employment, healthcare and community services.
  • Advocate for young people and coordinate with external agencies.
  • Support independence in living skills, budgeting, tenancy management, and housing upkeep.
  • Manage tenancy-related matters, including rent accounts and property inspections.
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns, incidents and emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive living environment.

Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts on a 7-day rota between 8:00am and 8:00pm, including weekends and bank holidays

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges and achieve their potential?

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and resilient Supported Housing Worker to join our OFSTED-regulated Supported Accommodation service in Clitheroe. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people aged 16 to 25, including Care Leavers and Asylum Seekers, as they develop the confidence, skills and resilience needed to build successful independent lives.

As a Supported Housing Worker, you will provide a combination of housing management and person-centred support, helping young people maintain safe accommodation, access education, training and employment opportunities, and navigate the challenges that can come with transitioning to adulthood.

You will work alongside colleagues, local authorities and partner agencies to ensure young people receive the practical and emotional support they need to succeed.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Building trusting, professional relationships with young people while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Supporting young people to achieve goals through tailored support plans and regular key work sessions.
  • Completing needs, risk and support assessments.
  • Helping young people access education, employment, training, healthcare and community services.
  • Advocating on behalf of young people and coordinating support with external agencies.
  • Supporting residents to develop independent living skills, including budgeting, tenancy management and maintaining a home.
  • Managing tenancy-related matters, including rent accounts, property inspections and occupancy standards.
  • Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, incidents and emergencies.
  • Maintaining accurate records, case notes and reports.
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive living environment.
About You

  • Have experience supporting individuals who may have experienced trauma, adversity, or instability, and can remain calm and effective when responding to periods of heightened distress or conflict.
  • Have strong partnership-working and advocacy skills.
  • Can demonstrate resilience, perseverance, and a solution-focused approach.
  • Hold, or are willing to work towards, an NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have daily access to a vehicle.
