Job summary

Westholme, a residential care home in a Victorian house in Moseley, Birmingham, is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist up to thirteen adults with autism, mental health needs, learning disabilities and ABI. The role is based in Moseley with 35 hours per week and a salary of £13.45–£14.05 per hour.

You will provide day-to-day support, encourage independence, help with personal care and administer medications as required, while promoting skills through hobbies and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administering medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.
