Job summary

Riverside is seeking a Support Worker in Carlisle to work from one of our supported services. You will provide practical and emotional support, connect customers with employability coaches, help them manage money, and assist with benefits or moving to permanent housing.

You will need resilience, empathy and the ability to maintain records; you may work flexible hours and lone working while helping customers build confidence and move forward in life.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with vulnerable people, including coaching or move-on support.
• Ability to deliver structured support and manage risk.
• Team player with an empathetic, resilient attitude.
• Understanding of working with vulnerable groups, possibly with lived experience.

Responsibilities

• Leading on co-producing bespoke support and move-on plans, involving key stakeholders where appropriate.
• Organising and carrying out regular planned reviews of support and risk plans, or following incidents or significant changes.
• Engaging customers to meet agreed outcomes and develop life skills.
• Assisting customers with day-to-day support and tenancy-related matters.
• Identifying and promoting opportunities for employment, education and training and supporting customers to remove barriers.
• Signposting customers to external support services and community resources.
• Supporting customers to be tenancy ready to enable move on and financially independent through budgeting and income maximisation.
• Following safeguarding procedures and escalating significant risks as required.
