Job summary

Riverside is seeking a Support Worker in Penrith, Cumbria. The role is part-time (24 hours per week) with a 3 week rolling rota across 9am–8pm.

You will support customers with budgeting, benefits, and move-on housing, while keeping records and coordinating with employability coaches and support agencies. We value resilience, empathy and teamwork, with a focus on safeguarding and empowering people to regain independent lives.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with vulnerable people and delivering structured support.
• Experience in risk management and providing support in complex situations.
• Ability to work as part of a caring team with a flexible, can-do attitude.
• An understanding of barriers faced by vulnerable customers; lived experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support customers in employability, budgeting and benefits to move on to permanent housing.
• Keep clear records and contribute to reviews of support plans and risks.
• Signpost to external services, and help customers access education and training.
• Work flexibly, including lone working, to meet customer and business needs.
