Job summary

Stepping Stones Services is hiring a Support Worker for evening shifts. You will help clients with daily living, personal care, medication support, and community activities. The role operates on a 2-week rolling rota with specific weekday evening hours.

The ideal candidate has a caring attitude, good communication, and flexibility to work outside home settings. NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care is desirable, with training provided by Optimo Care Group.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to live independently including daily activities and personal care.
  • Administer medication following protocols and on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and accessible home.
  • Promote healthy relationships with family, friends and community.
  • Assist with day-to-day activities: shopping, appointments, social activities and hobbies.
  • Occasionally accompany individuals outside the home for activities or appointments.
  • Respect personal preferences and promote independence.
  • Report progress to the Service Manager and follow care plans.

Support Worker - Evenings
Salary - £12.71 per hour

We are looking for aSupport worker to join our team. This role involvesall aspects of daily living including personal care, assist with medication, community outreach and domestic duties as well as householdshopping

Stepping Stones Services is a trusted and compassionate provider of health and social care services. We support individuals in their own homes, assisting those with a variety of health needs, including learning disabilities, mental health issues, autism, physical disabilities, and those requiring assistance with personal care.

Shift Pattern (2-Week Rolling Rota) - FIXED:
Week 1 - 20 hours

Monday 1700 - 2200

Tuesday1700 - 2200

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting individuals to live independently: Assist individuals in maintaining their independence by encouraging and supporting them in daily activities such as meal preparation, budgeting, and personal care.
  • Administering medication: Follow medication protocols, ensuring medication is administered accurately and on time.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and accessible home: Assist individuals in keeping their home environment tidy and organised.
  • Promoting healthy relationships: Encourage and support positive relationships with family, friends, and the wider community.
  • Supporting with day-to-day activities: Provide practical and emotional support for individuals in areas such as shopping, appointments, social activities, and hobbies.
  • Supporting outside the home setting: On occasion, you may be required to accompany individuals outside of their home for activities such as hospital visits, holidays, or attending appointments at police stations.
  • Promoting independence and individuality: Ensure each individual is supported in a way that respects their personal preferences, choices, and promotes their independence.
  • Report to the Service Manager: Regularly report on the progress of the individuals you support and ensure their care plans are followed.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • A caring and compassionate attitude, with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact well with individuals with diverse needs.
  • Experience in a care setting (desirable but not essential).
  • Knowledge of person-centred care principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to provide support outside of the home setting when required.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
