Job summary

RTC Resources Ltd. in Middlesbrough is recruiting an experienced Support Worker to provide complex needs support with behaviours that challenge. This full-time role is 36–48 hours per week, paid at £14.50 per hour, with enhanced staffing and a strong focus on safeguarding and de-escalation.

You will work with a specialist care team, following care plans, recording accurate notes, and promoting dignity, choice and independence for service users.

Qualifications

• Previous UK care/support experience with complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
• Experience in enhanced staffing packages or intensive support settings.
• Practical experience managing physical aggression and escalation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver consistent, person-centred support per care and behavioural plans.
• Identify triggers and use de-escalation to reduce distress.
• Support communication, personal care, routines and meaningful activities.
• Assist with medication and community access as required by the plan.
• Maintain accurate care records and report safeguarding concerns.
• Collaborate with colleagues, families and clinical professionals.
• Follow least restrictive practice; physical intervention only when trained.
