Job summary

RTC Resources Ltd in Wolverhampton is seeking a Support Worker to assist with complex needs. You will follow detailed care plans, support personal care, meals and daily activities, and work within safeguarding and documentation requirements.

The role emphasizes dignity, de-escalation when needed, teamwork with families and clinicians, and using least restrictive practice with training provided.

Hourly rate £14.50, permanent contract, 36-48 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Previous UK care/support experience involving complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
• Experience within enhanced staffing packages or comparable intensive support environments.
• Practical experience managing behavioural escalation and physical aggression.
• Strong teamwork, observation and communication skills.
• An understanding of safeguarding and consistent implementation of care plans.
• DMI/Dynamis training is highly desirable; PMVA or other recognised intervention may be considered after review.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships while maintaining dignity and professional boundaries.
• Follow detailed care plans, risk assessments and Positive Behaviour Support plans.
• Recognise triggers and use calm, non-confrontational de-escalation techniques.
• Assist with personal care, meals, medication, daily activities and community access as required.
• Complete accurate records and report incidents and safeguarding concerns promptly.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and clinical professionals.
• Apply least restrictive practice, using physical intervention only as a last resort within authorised arrangements and current training.
