Job summary

Walsingham Support is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to assist residents with daily living, personal care, meals and activities, promoting independence and choice. No prior care experience is required as full training is provided to build a rewarding care career within our residential service for adults with learning disabilities.

Work includes day and night shifts, recording notes and health records, and working as part of a team to support people with a range of needs.

Job description

This isn't a boring job you'll be changing lives with care, supporting day-to-day living and joining in with activities like bowling, swimming, walks, and community outings.

You don't need prior experience to join as a Support Worker.

We provide all the training you'll need, along with ongoing support to help you build a career in care., The service is a residential care home supporting up to 8 adults with learning disabilities. People supported have a range of needs, including autism, epilepsy, dementia, diabetes, mobility needs, communication difficulties and complex health and personal care needs. Some people require hoisting and two staff support for transfers, while others require support with activities, appointments and accessing the local area.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The role involves providing person-centred support with personal care, medication, meals, health appointments, activities and daily living skills, while promoting choice and independence.

Staff are required to complete service paperwork, including daily notes, activity records, medication and financial records, health monitoring, incident reports, relevant service audit forms and routine checks. Records need to be accurate and kept up to date.

The role requires flexibility to work day and night shifts, including weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins. Applicants need to work well as part of a team and support people with a range of communication, mobility, health and personal care needs.
