Job summary

Walsingham Support is recruiting a compassionate Support Worker to help adults with learning disabilities live life their way. No prior care experience is required, as full training will be provided, and a full UK manual driving licence is essential.

You will work across services, supporting individuals with day-to-day needs, meals, activities and independence. The role involves day and sleep-in shifts, including weekends, with a focus on person-centred care.

About the Service

Six individuals live within the service, all with learning disabilities and associated support needs. The people we support also have autism, Down syndrome and display behaviours that challenge.

As a Support Worker, you will play an important role in providing person-centred support, helping individuals maintain their independence and enjoy meaningful activities and experiences.

• A Full UK manual driving licence is essential.

About the Role

• Support individuals with their day-to-day needs and activities.
• Support people with learning disabilities, autism and associated challenges.
• Prepare and cook main meals within the service.
• Work flexibly across different services when required.
• Work a variety of shifts, including day shifts and sleep-in shifts.
• Sleep-in shifts run from 11:00am to 11:00pm, followed by a sleep-in period until 7:00am, before continuing the shift until 11:00am.
• The service operates 7 days a week, covering 8:00am - 8:00pm day shifts as well as sleep-in shifts.
• There are no set weekends off, so flexibility to work weekends is essential.
• A Full UK manual driving licence is essential.
