Walsingham Support in the Pontesbury area is seeking Outreach Support Workers to help adults with learning disabilities live independently. You will provide person-centred support, enabling access to meaningful activities and community engagement, with a focus on building independent living skills.

We offer training, ongoing development, and a supportive team. This role pays £13.45 per hour with flexible shifts and opportunities in a rural setting near Shrewsbury.

We are excited to be launching a new outreach support service in the Pontesbury area and are looking for dedicated, caring, and motivated Support Workers to join our growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a brand-new service, supporting individuals to live independently, achieve their goals, and access opportunities within their local communities.

About the Role As an Outreach Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and other complex support requirements.

No two days are the same, and you will play a vital role in helping people lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.

We run a multitude of Shropshire-based sites including Meadow Brook (Little Minsterley) The Granary, The Spinney, Heathland, Pine Crescent and Sunny Bank, ensuring safe, well-adapted homes for those we support.

Specific details on the role

You will be supporting a young lady with Autism, a Learning Disability and impaired speech.

The support provided will be on a 2:1 basis.

There will be behaviours that challenge so previous experience in PBS is required and support workers will need to be observant, calm in a crisis and resilient.

Knowledge of Autism would be a huge benefit.

Support Workers will need to be energetic, motivated and outcome focused.

Due to communication needs, we need people with good communication skills.

A desire to support people to become more independent is essential.

There will be personal care involved.

This is an exciting opportunity to support a young lady, currently living with family but has an aspiration to move into a Supported Living setting in the near future. To support with building independent living skills and support with access to meaningful activities in the community.

On top of all of the above, the service is quite remote so access to a vehicle is needed to access the service. However, a vehicle is provided by the family to support the person to access to community.

Rota details

Shifts can vary from 7am-2pm, 2-10pm and 9am-5pm.

Long days are available too and a share of weekend work is expected.

Sleep-in's are not required specifically for this role, however, are available in other services.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting individuals to access community activities and appointments
