Job summary

Walsingham Support in England invites applications for a Support Worker to help adults with learning disabilities live life their way. You'll provide personal care, companionship, and support with daily activities, and encourage independence within a friendly team.

No prior care experience required; full training and ongoing support are provided. You'll work with people to participate in activities and community events, with varying shift patterns including weekends.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the people we support.

As a Support Worker, youll provide personalised support to individuals with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism and dementia. Youll get to know each person as an individual, supporting them to live a fulfilling life, develop their independence and achieve the things that are important to them.

Your role will be varied and rewarding. Youll work alongside the people we support with day-to-day activities, encourage them to take part in activities and the wider community, and provide support with personal care where required. You may also support wheelchair users and, following appropriate training, administer medication.

Youll be an important part of the team, working collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality support. Youll also take on key working responsibilities, building positive relationships and helping to ensure each persons individual needs, preferences and goals remain at the heart of the support we provide.

The role offers a variety of shift patterns to support different working arrangements. Full-time colleagues will typically work 8-hour shifts across 5 days, while part-time opportunities can include 6-hour shifts across 4 days. Weekend working will be required, with patterns including weekend-on/weekend-off arrangements.
