We're looking for a support worker to work alongside an individual in Sale, enabling them to live their life with dignity and purpose. This person is passionate about gardening, singing, and music, and loves spending time in sensory rooms. They deserve support tailored to their unique needs and preferences. As someone who has learning disabilities, autism, and is registered blind, they may need support to communicate effectively and navigate their surroundings, and at times may display behaviors that can be challenging. We are not looking for someone to “manage” these aspects, but someone who can understand and support them in a respectful and empowering way.
To be a great fit for this role, you’ll need to be familiar with the Sale area, be able to drive, hold a full UK driving licence, and have previous experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, blindness, and challenging behaviors.
You will provide high‑quality care on a 2:1 basis, ensuring compassionate, attentive support tailored to the individual's needs. Responsibilities include engaging in meaningful activities, taking them out in the community to promote social interaction and well‑being, supporting household tasks to maintain a clean and organised living environment that fosters comfort and independence, and communicating in their preferred manner to build a strong, trusting relationship.
