Job summary

Agincare is seeking Support Workers for Hedge End, Southampton to help people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health and complex needs live as independently as possible in their own homes and local community.

You will join a dedicated team, delivering person-centred outcomes, and will benefit from fully funded training and career development, plus a company pension. Full-time, part-time and bank roles are available.

Qualifications

  • 12 months right to work
  • Experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health or complex needs (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Encourage people to take active roles in their communities and promote independence
  • Support activities of daily living including personal care, routines, meal planning and budgeting
  • Communicate effectively using each person’s preferred method
  • Engage and motivate people to improve quality of life
  • Specialise in positive behavioural support approaches as needed
  • Record keeping and reporting changes in health or circumstances to management
  • Work as part of a team and on own initiative

You will need to be enthusiastic, have great people skills, and a positive and proactive approach to your role, supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health and complex needs.

Where you’ll be working:

Hedge End Southampton.

This is a unique service within Hedge End offering supporting living, enabling people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and local community.

We are looking for support workers to join our amazing team, and to continue delivering outstanding outcomes.

What is required from you?

A minimum of 12 months on your right to work

As part of your day to day work you will be offering the following;

Encouraging – people to play active roles in the communities in which they live, to encourage independence.

Supporting –Activities of daily Living including social activities, personal care, routines, planning and preparation of meals and budgeting.

Communicating - effectively communicate using people’s chosen methods

Engaging - promoting and motivating people we support to enhance their quality of life

Specialising -supporting people who may need positive behavioural support approaches

Recording -keeping accurate records &reporting changes in health or circumstances of service users to management

Team player – Working as part of a team, as well as being able to work using your own initiative.
