Job summary

Agincare Weymouth is seeking compassionate support workers to assist people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs at Cranford Avenue, Weymouth. You will help individuals live as independently as possible, encouraging participation in daily activities and community access.

We value enthusiasm, great people skills and a proactive approach. Bank opportunities are available, with fully funded training and a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months on your right to work.

Responsibilities

  • Encouraging people to participate in communities to promote independence.
  • Assisting with activities of daily living including social activities, personal care, routines, meal planning and budgeting.
  • Communicating effectively using people’s chosen methods.
  • Engaging to enhance quality of life.
  • Specialising in positive behavioural support approaches when needed.
  • Recording and reporting changes in health or circumstances to management.
  • Team player who can also work on own initiative.

You will need to be enthusiastic, have great people skills, and a positive and proactive approach to your role, supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health and complex needs.

Where you’ll be working:

Cranford Avenue- Weymouth

This is 2 supported living services on Cranford Avenue supporting 8 individuals with autism and complex needs to live independently within the local community.

Offering supported living, encouraging and enabling people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and accessing the local community & facilities.

We are looking for support workers to join our amazing team, to continue delivering outstanding outcomes

As part of your day to day work you will be offering the following;

  • Encouraging – people to play active roles in the communities in which they live, to encourage independence.
  • Supporting – Activities of daily Living including social activities, personal care, routines, planning and preparation of meals and budgeting.
  • Communicating – effectively communicate using people’s chosen methods
  • Engaging – promoting and motivating people we support to enhance their quality of life
  • Specialising – supporting people who may need positive behavioural support approaches
  • Recording – keeping accurate records & reporting changes in health or circumstances of service users to management
  • Team player – Working as part of a team, as well as being able to work using your own initiative.
