Shift Pattern

16> 24 Hour (including Sleep‑in) on a one on two off or two on four off basis. Of‑course no day is the same here at the Cambian Group.

Day in the Life – Senior Support Worker
  • Lead shifts and deputise for the Registered Manager where required.
  • Ensure that the team of Residential Care Workers are up to date with all mandatory learning and assist with their individual development.
  • Communicate with the on‑site team and raise awareness of individual care plans and their implementation.
  • Maintain accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets and files to enable regular monitoring and evaluation.
  • Contribute to team and staff meetings to facilitate good communication and staff development.
  • Provide support and care to the young people within our services.
  • Encourage young people in their preparation to re‑enter education or to engage in their current schooling.
  • Travel with our young people to and from school or college.
  • Prepare food at meal times and maintain the home (cleaning, laundry etc.) throughout the day to ensure a wonderful environment.
  • Organise and facilitate social activities.

The young people we support are very well adjusted to school and are achieving great marks and participating in a number of activities.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Must have the desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • 12 months senior experience working in a residential setting is highly desirable but we also encourage applications from those at the start of their journey.
  • Requirement for DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
