If you're a natural people person who enjoys helping others and making people smile, then we're looking for people like you to join our amazing #TeamBerrybank in Maud. We've got part-time (16, 20 or 25 hours per week) and relief Support Practitioner roles available.
It's about so much more than care. It's about helping people live life their way, build confidence, try new things and enjoy the little moments.
You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team helping individuals with learning disabilities to live their lives at home and in out and about in the community.
One day, you might be baking a cake, getting creative with arts and crafts or tending the garden. The next, you could be enjoying a day out, supporting someone's independence or sharing a laugh over a cuppa.
You don't need previous experience. If you're kind, compassionate and ready to learn, you’re already half way there, we'll give you the training, encouragement and support you’ll need to be a great Support Practitioner.
You're maybe looking for a fresh start, returning to work, changing careers or simply wanting a job that gives you more than just a payslip. Whatever your story, we're keen to hear from you!
If this sounds like you, you could be just the person we’re looking for!
At Cornerstone, we believe that looking after our team is just as important as supporting the people who rely on us.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
Our priority is making sure that the people we support receive consistent, high-quality support, so shifts will generally include early shifts and back shifts, with weekends, public holidays and sleepovers worked on a rotational basis.
Our sleepovers are separate from your contracted hours, so you’ll receive an additional payment of £107.60 for every sleepover you work - giving you the opportunity to earn extra alongside your contracted hours.
If you're not based in Maud and don't drive, please consider how you'll travel to our services. Public transport is limited and may not fit all shift patterns.
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre‑employment checks.
