Job summary

Jobtrain is looking for compassionate Support Practitioners to help adults with disabilities across the Scottish Borders, including Galashiels. Roles are full-time and part-time, with flexible relief options. You will join a friendly team focused on making a real difference in people’s lives.

No previous experience is required; training is provided. You’ll help with daily activities, meals, and personal goals, and you’ll be supported through PVG checks and SSSC registration where needed.

Our fantastic #TeamBordersCS are looking for new Support Practitioners on a full-time and part-time, permanent basis. We also have relief opportunities too if you'd prefer something a bit more flexible.

We provide support across the Scottish Borders, including Galashiels, Hawick, Jedburgh, Melrose, St Boswells, Earlston, and Tweedbank.

What we're looking for

You don't need previous experience, just bring the right attitude and we'll support you every step of the way!

We'll need you to have:

• A kind, caring and compassionate nature

Shift Patterns

Because everyone we support is different, your shifts may be too:

• Shifts between 0715-2000 hours
• Weekends worked on a rotational basis

And occasionally:

• Later shifts for activities, concerts and shows
• Sleepovers to support holidays and trips away

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre‑employment checks.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
