Job summary

Jobtrain is seeking a Support Practitioner to provide person-centred support with everyday activities and personal needs. You’ll help with meals, household tasks, appointments, personal care, and social activities, while encouraging independence and community connections.

Applicants must have a full UK manual driving licence (1 year experience) and be comfortable with swimming. We train, pay, and support you towards funded qualifications via our Training Academy and require SSSC registration

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence with 1 year of experience.

• Commitment to SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with Training Academy support.
• Registration with SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment.

What will you be doing?

As a Support Practitioner, you'll provide tailored, person-centred support with day-to-day activities and personal needs. This could include:

• Planning and preparing meals
• Helping with household tasks
• Supporting people to attend appointments
• Prompting with personal care and medication
• Supporting hobbies, interests and social activities
• Encouraging people to stay connected with friends, family and their local community

You'll also have plenty of opportunities to get involved in the fun stuff! You'll support people to make the most of their lives and do the things they enjoy.

Due to the needs of the service, for this role you will need a full UK manual drivers licence with 1 years experience on the roads. Some of the individuals we support enjoy swimming so you will need to be comfortable supporting them in the water.

Shift patterns

Our teams provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Shifts will fall between the hours of 7am and 9pm. Patterns include:

• Early mornings
• Evenings
• Weekends
• Public holidays
• Sleepovers

Sleepover shifts don’t count towards your weekly hours, you'll receive an additional payment of £134.50 for every sleepover worked - giving you the opportunity to earn extra alongside your contracted hours.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
