Job summary

Cornerstone is looking for caring individuals to support young adults as they take steps into adulthood. You will help them engage with college, community activities and independent living, with training and qualifications provided.

Shifts include early, midday and overnight sleepovers; you will receive an additional sleepover payment. Pre-employment checks and SVQ training are part of the role, with SSSC registration supported.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; full training provided.
• You’ll gain funded, recognised qualifications as you work.
• You will be supported throughout with ongoing development.

You'll support them to get the most out of college, explore their community and develop the skills they need to live more independently. No two days will be the same! You could be supporting them to attend college, go to the trampoline park, enjoy hobbies such as swimming or going for walks and going to groups with friends. Most importantly, you'll be there to encourage confidence, champion independence and celebrate every achievement along the way.

Ready to help someone discover what they're capable of?

Due to some of the individuals having their own mobility car, we would need you to have a full UK manual drivers licence. Some of the individuals we support enjoy going swimming so you would need to be happy to support them in the water.

Shift Patterns

As we're dedicated to providing the best support possible, shifts typically will be 8am-4.30pm, 12noon-4pm or 8am-10pm. Weekends and public holidays will also form part of your rota. This service provides a sleepover.

Sleepover shifts aren't counted towards your contracted hours so you will receive an additional payment of £134.50 for every sleepover worked.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
