Job summary

Jobtrain in Cumbernauld is seeking a friendly, reliable part-time community support worker to help individuals live independently at home and in their communities. You’ll provide practical assistance with daily living, meals, personal care, and social activities, building meaningful relationships along the way.

No prior experience is required—training will be provided, and sponsored qualifications support your career progression.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and develop through funded qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals with personal care and daily living tasks.
• Assist with cooking meals and meal preparation.
• Support with administering medication as directed by care plans.
• Assist with managing personal finances and budgeting.
• Support with social activities, hobbies, and community events.
• Accompany to activities such as swimming or bowling as appropriate.
• Build genuine relationships and help people achieve their goals.

Our brilliant community support team in Cumbernauld are looking for new team members to join them on a permanent part-time basis (16-30 hours per week).

You'll be joining a fantastic team of people who support individuals across the Cumbernauld area to live as independently as possible within their own homes and local communities, living their lives the way they choose.

You'll build a genuine relationship with each of the individuals and be part of moments that really matter; whether it's providing support to cook a meal, achieve a goal, try something new or just feel understood.

This could mean helping with:

• Cooking and preparing meals
• Personal care and daily living
• Administering medication
• Managing personal finances
• Going swimming
• Going bowling
• Getting involved in community events
• Attending clubs and enjoying hobbies
• And lots, lots more!

It's about much more than providing support — it's about getting to know the person, understanding what matters to them and helping them achieve their goals and enjoy life.

Due to the people we support having their own mobility cars, we would need you to have a full manual UK drivers licence.

Some of the individuals enjoys swimming so you would need to be happy to support them in the water.

Shift patterns

Our team provides tailored support with shifts typically being from 8am-4pm and or 10am-10pm 7 days a week. Weekends and public holidays will form part of your rota on a rotational basis. Some of the people we support also have a requirement for a sleepover.

Sleepovers don't form part of your contract hours, for these shifts you would receive an additional payment of £134.50.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
