Job summary

Cornerstone Community Care seeks compassionate staff to support young adults entering adulthood. You will help them attend college, join activities, and develop independence, with a focus on confidence and achievement.

Shifts include 8am-4:30pm, 12noon-4pm, or 8am-10pm, with sleepover work compensated separately. Full UK manual driving licence preferred due to mobility needs of individuals supported.

Our amazing #TeamNLSlighean are looking for new colleagues to support young adults as they take the exciting next steps into adulthood. You'll support them to get the most out of college, explore their community and develop the skills they need to live more independently. No two days will be the same! You could be supporting them to attend college, go to the trampoline park, enjoy hobbies such as swimming or going for walks and going to groups with friends. Most importantly, you'll be there to encourage confidence, champion independence and celebrate every achievement along the way. Ready to help someone discover what they're capable of?

Due to some of the individuals having their own mobility car, we would need you to have a full UK manual drivers licence. Some of the individuals we support enjoy going swimming so you would need to be happy to support them in the water.

Shift Patterns

As we’re dedicated to providing the best support possible, shifts typically will be 8am-4.30pm, 12noon-4pm or 8am -10pm. Weekends and public holidays will also form part of your rota. This service provides a sleepover.

Sleepover shifts aren’t counted towards your contracted hours so you will receive an additional payment of £134.50 for every sleepover worked.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
