Job summary

Sanctuary Group is hiring a Support Assistant to empower people with mental health needs at 28 Wigan Road, Deane, Bolton. This 30-hour role pays £13.15 per hour and is part of a not-for-profit service focused on community wellbeing.

You’ll join a compassionate team, provide hands-on support, help with daily living skills, and advocate for customers. The role emphasizes safeguarding, teamwork, and inclusive, flexible working arrangements with career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar)
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Caring, approachable nature

Responsibilities

• Support customers with mental health needs to build confidence and reach their potential
• Provide a hands-on, high-quality support service
• Encourage daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and community involvement
• Promote social inclusion and help customers develop resilience and self-esteem
• Work with agencies on behalf of customers, encouraging choice and acting as an advocate when needed
• Maintain a safe environment and follow relevant regulations and practices

Your role
