Job summary

Sanctuary Group in Bridgwater, Somerset, is seeking a motivated Support Assistant to provide hands-on support to customers with a disability. You will help develop daily living skills, promote inclusion, and work with agencies to advocate for customer choices. A caring, approachable attitude is essential.

The role requires teamwork, accurate record-keeping, and good IT skills. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to pursue) is preferred.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
  • Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Experience working effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and share information clearly with the team.
  • Caring, approachable by customers with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a hands-on, high-quality support service.
  • Encourage customers to develop daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and community involvement.
  • Promote social inclusion and help customers build confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
  • Work with agencies on behalf of customers, encouraging choice and acting as an advocate when needed.
  • Maintain a safe environment and follow relevant regulations and practices.
  • Excellent communication with customers, families and agencies.
  • Support teamwork and share information clearly with the team.

Support Assistant

£13.15 per hour

Your role
