Job summary

ALPADIA is seeking a Welfare Officer to safeguard and support students at our UK summer camp. You will lead the Welfare Team, coordinate attendance, and liaise with internal teams to resolve welfare concerns while following all safeguarding policies.

You will oversee staff induction, rota creation, and day-to-day welfare administration, ensuring a safe, respectful, and enriching environment for all participants and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral, welfare, safeguarding, or residential management with children or young people.
• Experience working in a summer camp, boarding school, or youth programme setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage safeguarding cases, welfare incidents, and behavioural issues professionally and sensitively.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize student safety by implementing Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies with the Camp Manager.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Staff for the centre and arrange medical responses.
• Manage attendance registers and student welfare communications with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead welfare staff including safeguarding briefings, rotas, and training with the Camp Manager.
• Support accommodation management, pocket money distribution, and daily administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations.
