Job summary

ALPADIA Language Schools SA is seeking a Welfare Officer for a fixed term summer contract in Brighton. The role focuses on safeguarding, supervising student accommodation, and supporting wellbeing in a dynamic, international summer school environment.

You will engage with diverse students, promote safety standards, and contribute to activities and welfare documentation, with DBS checks and references as part of safeguarding compliance.

Qualifications

• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent team work skills are essential.
• Knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate clearly.
• Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
• Safeguarding and welfare experience with under 18s.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all students in our care.
• Monitor and supervise the student residence ensuring safety and wellbeing of residents.
• Manage students’ behaviour at all relevant times with appropriate sanctions or encouragement.
• Chasing and finding students who are missing to maintain safeguarding standards.
• Support and care for sick students in camp.
• Ensure accommodation is kept tidy and students follow routines.
• Assist in arrival/check-out procedures and in running activities and excursions.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by camp management.
