Job summary

Babcock International invites applications for an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Degree Apprenticeship, a Level 6 programme based in Bristol. You will study for a BEng (Hons) while contributing to live submarine projects and supporting the electrical team with feasibility studies, design changes, and equipment documentation.

You’ll spend substantial time at the Technology Centre in Bristol and at a partner university, mentored by experienced engineers, aiming for professional

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths at minimum grade C/4 and B/6 or higher respectively.
• 3 A Levels (Maths and two STEM subjects) or an equivalent Level 3 qualification.
• Strong math, analytical and problem-solving skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, schedules and reports.
• Create technical documentation to support design and engineering of solutions.
• Survey submarines during dockyard maintenance periods.
• Assist with design changes and 3D boat models using CAD/design tools.
• Maintain equipment databases and ensure data accuracy.

Education

GCSEs including English & Maths

A Levels in Maths & two STEM subjects

Level 3 engineering qualification (e.g., BTEC) or equivalent
