Job summary

Babcock International invites applicants to join an advanced Level 6 degree apprenticeship based in Bristol, designed to develop core engineering skills within the submarine fleet support team. You will gain hands-on experience across live projects, feasibility studies, and design changes while shadowing experienced engineers.

You'll study for a BEng (Hons) in Electronics or Electrical and Electronic Engineering, spending part of the week at the Bristol Technology Centre and part at university.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher with English and Maths at B/6 or higher.
• 3 A Levels (at grade C or above) in Maths and two other STEM subjects, or equivalent Level 3 qualification (e.g. BTEC) with strong math element.
• Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in building a career as an Electrical Engineer within the UK submarine sector.

Responsibilities

• Producing electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, schedules, and reports.
• Creating technical documentation to support design and engineering of technical solutions.
• Surveying submarines during dockyard maintenance periods.
• Using CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Unity to assist with design changes and 3D models.
