Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Pastoral Support Officer to help students thrive in a secondary school setting. You will offer individual guidance across academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs and work with the pastoral team to address barriers to wellbeing and attendance.

The role involves mentoring, data tracking, and collaboration with parents/carers and external agencies, with duties spanning year heads and policy support in a friendly, safeguarding‑minded environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on academic, social, emotional and behavioural issues.
• Develop mentoring to support confidence and self-esteem.
• Monitor attendance and wellbeing; support early intervention.
• Collaborate with year heads, teachers, support staff, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Analyse student data and maintain confidential records.
• Contribute to year-group plans, policies and meetings.
