Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced Pastoral Support Officer to join a mainstream secondary school in Islington, supporting KS3 and KS4, with Heads of Year.

You will help improve student behaviour, attendance and wellbeing, delivering 1:1 mentoring and group interventions, liaising with parents, and working with the SENCO and safeguarding teams. This is a term-time, full-time position with immediate start and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Previous pastoral or behaviour support experience is essential.
• Experience working with secondary-aged students.
• Confidence supporting Heads of Year and pastoral teams.
• Strong understanding of SEMH and behaviour management.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Heads of Year to support students across KS3 and KS4
• Provide targeted pastoral and behaviour support to individual students
• Monitor attendance, punctuality and behaviour
• Deliver 1:1 mentoring and small-group interventions
• Build relationships with students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
• Liaise with parents and carers regarding student progress
