Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer for a secondary school in Cannock. The role focuses on safeguarding, attendance, behaviour support and student wellbeing within a busy pastoral team.

You will work closely with staff, parents and external agencies to support students’ personal and educational development and to create a safe, inclusive school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with young people in school or educational settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm and professional in managing challenging behaviour.
• Safeguarding awareness and student wellbeing understanding.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day pastoral support to students.
• Develop positive relationships with students.
• Support attendance, punctuality, behaviour and engagement.
• Identify students needing additional pastoral or emotional support.
• Collaborate with families and external agencies as appropriate.
• Monitor student welfare and raise safeguarding concerns.
• Help students overcome barriers to learning and progress.
• Assist with behaviour interventions and individual support plans.
• Work with Heads of Year, SLT, SENCO and teaching staff.
