Job summary

Shirebrook Academy is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Manager to provide pastoral support to identified students and assist the safeguarding leads. The role involves coordinating rewards and sanctions, engaging with the school council and parents, and working with internal teams to monitor progress and welfare.

You will contribute to attendance monitoring, reports, and a positive school climate, with occasional duties at other ACET academies and flexibility for INSET days.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support to identified students
• Support the academy safeguarding leads
• Carry out duties/patrol as required
• Organise and administer appropriate rewards and sanctions
• Work with the school council and encourage student participation
• Liaise with parents/carers, teachers, inclusion staff and other agencies regarding student welfare
• Contribute to consultation evenings, staff meetings, assemblies and other activities
• Review student progress by analysing monitoring data
• Monitor student attendance and punctuality and take appropriate action
• Contribute to production of student progress and monitoring reports
• Create a positive climate where students can achieve their full potential
• Monitor students during lunchtime
• Be well-motivated and flexible
• Have a can-do approach
• Have good communication skills
• Work as part of a team
• Role may involve working at other academies within the trust and occasional non-standard INSET days with payment
