Job summary

Shirebrook Academy is seeking an enthusiastic Pastoral Support Manager to help deliver pastoral provision across the academy. You will work with Pastoral Support Managers and leadership teams to support students’ wellbeing and attendance.

You will contribute to monitoring progress, participate in school events, and liaise with parents and external agencies to safeguard and promote well-being. A collaborative, flexible approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Pastoral support experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support to identified students.
• Support the academy safeguarding leads.
• Carry out duties/patrol as required.
• Organise and administer appropriate rewards and sanctions.
• Work with the school council and encourage student participation.
• Liaise with parents/carers, teachers, inclusion staff and other agencies regarding student welfare.
• Contribute to consultation evenings, staff meetings, assemblies and other activities.
• Review student progress by analysing monitoring data.
• Monitor student attendance, punctuality, praise and concerns in line with policies.
• Contribute to production of student progress and monitoring reports.
• Create a positive climate where students can achieve their full potential.
• Monitor students during lunchtime period.
• Demonstrate motivation, flexibility and a can-do approach.
• Communicate effectively and maintain professional standards.
• Work as part of a team across the academy network.
