Job summary

Retford Oaks Academy invites applications for a Pastoral Support post. You will work within the Pastoral Support team to deliver behavioural support, pupil welfare and administrative tasks, assisting students and teaching staff across the academy and community.

The successful candidate will build supportive relationships with pupils and parents, supervise pupils with challenging behaviour, monitor progress of interventions and liaise with staff to share good practice.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at C (or above) Grade (or equivalent).
• Relevant and recent experience of working with young people.
• A thorough and practical understanding of issues related to improving students’ progress and ensuring equality of opportunity both in and out of the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Establish supportive relationships with pupils and parents to promote engagement.
• Supervise students with challenging behaviour.
• Monitor impact of intervention strategies on progress.
• Keep teachers and Pastoral Leaders informed of issues.
• Attend meetings to share information essential for student support.
