Job summary

King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls' Academy is seeking an outstanding Pastoral Manager to lead the personal, social and emotional development of students within designated year groups. You will promote high standards of attendance, behaviour and welfare, and coordinate interventions to help every pupil reach their potential.

The role requires excellent communication, strong organisational skills and a commitment to equality, safeguarding and professional development within a supportive school

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs including English and Maths.
• Good ICT skills.
• Ability to write reports and communicate effectively.
• Understanding of behaviour management and child protection procedures.
• Strong organisational and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to equality, safeguarding and professional development.
• Ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role confidently in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pastoral provision for designated year groups.
• Promote attendance, punctuality, behaviour and student welfare.
• Manage and support a team of form tutors.
• Monitor student progress and coordinate interventions.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers and external agencies.
• Investigate and respond to behaviour and wellbeing concerns.
• Lead assemblies, rewards initiatives and personal development activities.
• Maintain accurate records and reports using academy systems.
