Job summary

Gretton Primary Academy, part of the Brooke Weston Trust, is seeking a compassionate Student Support Officer for 20 hours per week during term time. You will build trusted relationships with pupils, address barriers to learning, and work with families and staff to support behaviour, attendance and wellbeing.

The role emphasises safeguarding, targeted pastoral support, and collaboration with teachers and external professionals to ensure pupils receive joined-up support.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, resilient and proactive individual required.
• Experience supporting pupils and families in educational settings preferred.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with pupils and families.
• Identify and address barriers to learning, attendance and behaviour.
• Provide targeted pastoral support and interventions.
• Support emotional regulation and positive attitudes to learning.
• Monitor attendance and work with families to improve punctuality.
• Maintain records and contribute to plans and reviews.
